Laboratory Safety File Management - Safebook
Safety file management is a legal requirement under the Occupational Safety Regulations for Chemical and Biological Laboratories*. According to the law, all laboratory members must update and review the safety file at least once a year.
Safebook digitally consolidates all necessary safety aspects specific to each laboratory. All safety guidelines relevant to your laboratory processes and chemicals will be compiled based on your input.
Process:
- PIs should enter the link https://safebook.web3dev.technion.ac.il/, click "Sign in with Microsoft", and log in with their Technion username and password, where personal details should be entered.
- After the PI will fill in personal details, a laboratory manager can be appointed to continue setting up the file and its ongoing management.
- The appointed laboratory manager will enter the lab data and laboratory members' details.
- Based on the entered data, the system will generate a unique safety file for the laboratory.
- Laboratory members listed in the file will receive a link to Safebook, for reading and acknowledging only, and must confirm they have read it.
- The faculty member or appointed laboratory manager will be responsible for updating the file and ensuring that all laboratory members have read and confirmed their review annually.
